Fish Cake Soup (어묵국)

Eomuk Guk (어묵국) or Korean Fish Cake Soup is a comforting and savory broth-based dish made with skewered fish cakes simmered in a light anchovy and kelp stock.   • Handful of dried anchovies
  • 1/2 of a Korean Radish
  • 1/2 oz of Dried Kelp
  • Fish Cake (different varieties)
  • Fish Balls
  • Green Onions
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Soy Sauce to taste
  • Mirin to taste
  • Water
  • MSG (Optional)
  1. Cut radish to 1/2in slices
  2. Place water, radish, anchovies, and kelp and heat over medium low. Remove once broth is about to boil
  3. Remove all broth-related ingredients except for radish
  4. Add fish cakes and fish balls and simmer
  5. Add soy sauce, mirin and salt to desired taste
